Weathering Experiments

You just completed an experiment about weathering. Which experiment did you complete (describe it) and what was your conclusion?

We did experiment #2 with the sand and sugar cubes. You put the sugar cubes in the jar of sand and shake it. The more you shake the cubes the more the cubes wear (or weather) down.

our group did experiment number 2 and when we shook the container the sand started weathering away at the sugar cube.

We completed experiment 3 which was about how fast chalk would dissolve. We put one chalk in vinegar and another in water. Our conclusion was that the vinegar dissolved the chalk while the water did nothing.

When we put the penni in the vinegar
and made it shiny if we did not put the penni in the vinegar it would not be shinny

we did experiment #3. when we put the chalk in the water it did not dissolve.When we put the chalk in the vinegar it dissolve and it change the skin
came off.

We did experiment #1. That was the experiment with the pennies and the vinegar. The pennies were cleaned when put in the vinegar. So our conclusion is that vinegar will clean the dirt and gunk of the pennies.

We did experiment number 1.... with the pennies,white vinegar and the apple cider vinegar. When we put the penny in white vinegar the penny got cleaner, in the apple cider the penny got a little cleaner. THE END

Our conclusion was that in experiment #3 that the chalk dissolves faster in vinegar than in water.

We did experiment #2.We used sugar cubes and when we shook them in the sand. They weathered them and the sugar cubes got smaller.There was not a conclusion because Jacob S. broke the glass and cut Jaret.

We did experiment #3 when we had to break the chalk in half and then put it in the water and vinegar and we had to see what happens with the chalk. The chalk dissolved in the vinegar but not in the water.

We did experiment #1 and we put a penny in vinegar and it got cleaner so our hypothesis is correct

The experiment we completed used gravel,2 sugar cubes,a baby jar,and a spoon. Our conclusion was the more we shook the sand and sugar cubes the more the sugar cubes broke up into little pieces of sand.

we did experiment #2 with the sand and sugar cubes. what we did was we shook the
container for two min. and three min and then another three min and the sand acted like a shield and protected the sugar cubes.

We did experiment #1. We took 2 pennies and put them in 2 different kinds of vinegar. We noticed that the pennies were getting cleaner than what they used to be. When we put 1 penny in the white vinegar, it started to dissolve the bacteria of the penny. It did the same thing to the penny in the red vinegar.But the white vinegar was stronger than the red vinegar.

we did experiment #3 with the chalk. you put water in one cup and vinegar in the another cup. then you put the chalk in each cup and you can see the color change in the vinegar. but the water does nothing at all. so our conclusion is that water does nothing but the vinegar changes color and it starts to fizz.

we did experiment #3, which consists of putting chalk in two beakers that have vinegar and water in them. The vinegar dissolved the chalk faster than the water.

we did experiment number1 we used 2 pennies, brow vinegar, water, and cups. when we did the experiment the 2 pennies got cleaner.

We completed Experiment #3 with the limestone, vinegar, and water. We realized that the water doesn't have an effect on limestone and vinegar does have an effect on limestone it dissolved.

We did expirement 2, with the sand in the jar with the gravel. We conclude that the weathering of the sugar cubes is because of the gravel. This is because the sand is wearing down the sugar cubes, and mixing the fragments in with the gravel. This is weathering, and the form of it is sand, but also can be used in water, and ice.

We had brown vinegar and regular vinegar. We had 2 dirty pennies. We also had a timer. We put a penny in the brown vinegar for 5 minutes and the other in the regular white vinegar for 5 minutes also. Our conclusion is that the regular vinegar cleaned a little bit more then what the brown vinegar did.

we did an experiment where we put chalk in vinegar and water and recorded the change. the results were the vinegar dissolved the chalk and the water didnt do anything.

We did Experiment#3 with the chalk, vinegar, and water. The water didn't have an effect on the chalk, but the vinegar dissolved the chalk with in 10 minutes.

The experiment we did was, experiment #2. In this experiment you have to shake a jar of sand and 2 sugar cubes. After we shook it for 2 minutes, we recorded our observations. The two sugar cubes weathered into little circles. Then we shook it for three more minutes and they didn't really change much. We shook it for three more minutes and they got a little smaller. Our conclusions was that gravel doesn't affect sugar cubes very much.

we did experiment #1 with the vinegar and pennies and when we took the pennies out of the vinegar after 5 minutes the pennies were clean. Our conclusion was that the pennies would be clean.

We Did Experiment #2. And The More you shake the jar the more the cubes get smaller and darker. Also it gets smoky.

The experiment we did was #2.You would put sand in the jar and 2 sugar cubes.Then you would shake the jar for a certain amount of time.Each time you would shake the jar the cubes would weather down.

We did experiment 3. where we had to see how chalk dissolved in one cup and the other cup had vinegar and had to see how fast it dissolved. In the cup with no vinegar it just stayed still. And with the
vinegar it dissolved right away!

hey. We did the experiment with the pennies an the vinegar. we put the pennies in the dish an then we poured the vinegar on top of the penny. we sat an waited for 5 min. an the penny was getting cleaner an then we waited another 5 min.to see what will happen the when we waited it was clean like a brand new penny was just used.

We did the experiment with the chalk . We did was put the chalk in to the cup with the vinegar and it dissolve into a bunch of pieces, then we put a piece of chalk in a cup of water but nothing happened to it.

We did experiment #1 with the two pennies and the two different types of vinegar. We dropped the pennies in the vinegars and observed them for about 5 minutes. White vinegar cleans the pennies better than the brown vinegar.

We did experiment number two with the sand jar and sugar cubes. The cubes started getting smaller and smaller each time we shook it. thats also called weathering.

We did eperiment #2, with the sand and sugar cubes. The more you shake the jar the more the sugar cubes weathered (broke down slowly) because the sand was rubbing against it. HI~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We did the experiment with the chalk. We put the pieces of chalk into vinegar and it dissolved. When we put the chalk into water it did nothing.

We did experiment #1. In our experiment we
put the pennies in the white and brown vinegar. In the white vinegar the penny edges were silver. in the brown vinegar the penny edges were still brown but the penny got cleaner.

We did experiment #3 were we had to use 2 pieces of chalk. One in vinegar and the other in water.The one in vinegar fizzed up the other one in the water did not.

Most hoodoos are made from sandstone and erosion from water. Then the rock becomes skinny and then it looks like the rocks were stacked on top on top of each other.

Erosion causes Hoodoos to form. Rains, running water, and strong winds are examples of erosion. The caprock helps the hoodoo be protected form erosion.

I think that the 4 things are wind sand water and freeze thaw cycle
