Community Issue
We have been learning about the three kinds of environmental issues in Science class: population, resource use, and pollution. What is an issue that people in your community care about? Be Specific. Ask someone in your family or a neighbor. What is a possible solution to the problem? Post your answer this week!

one issue is that trash people throw trash on the ground all the time whenever they want to.. so to fix this problem people can throw their trash in their homes and in trasges
they put soda cans on the road and they don t pick it up that is not good they by put a trashcans by the road so they can put it in there.

An issue that people in my community care about is keeping the environment clean. A possible solution for this problem is not littering. Littering happens when someone throws their trash on the ground instead of a trashcan. It hurts the environment when you litter because animals can get stuck in it, or eat it and die. Also, when a person litters, the trash can go down into a bay or river and pollute the waters.

One issue people in my community care about is runoff. An example is when chicken manure runs into the suage and then that goes into the chesepeake bay then into the ocean. One way we could fix this is if we keep the chicken manure in the fields and keep it away from suage drains.

be killed.I can stop this by keeping
flammable items and fire away from

One problem people in my community is population. There are these boys who ride their 4-Wheelers all around in the woods. They ride over animal habitats and the animals need to find some where else to live. It is sad them animals homes are destroyed.

The people after us will be affected by the trash. And the trash people throw on the ground it goes right to the Chesapeake Bay, that's really not cool for the ocean.
a disaster in my community is people don't throw there soda cans and chip bags in the trash also they dump stuff in the river and then when there are floods that nasty water goes every were.we can stop this by not throwing trash on the ground when theirs a trash can right beside you also we can get more people to street patrol also when you have a lot of trash don't put it in the river take it to the dump.
Our issue is that people in the enviorment care about keeping the sidewalks clean. People take there dos for walks and dont clean up after them. They also dont pick up their trash. If people would put trash in trash cans and clean up after their dogs our enviorment wouldn't have many problems left.

One issue is that people throw trash in the sewage drains and on the side of the road.A solution to this problem could be have a metal trashcan on the begining of every street.And with the sewage drains put a blocker on it and put holes it it about an half inch circle.
In my community we care about how it looks. In our community its clean and not trashy.Our community takes care of their houses and their yard.None of the yards are really trashy.If we keep doing this we will have a good community.
My community is worried about the trees because when their is a thunder storm some trees fall down

Chemicals and pesticides that are sprayed on fields and lawns that leak into the water table and into the bay. So use organic/less chemicals and pesticides. The cancer rate on the Eastern shore is way above average. I think the chemicals and pesticides are the reason why the cancer rate is above normal.
One issue is the increased population on the Eastern Shore. A population increase means that farms are sold for houses. This means the agriculture decreases. With more houses comes more resources used and more pollution as discussed in class.

People throw trash on the street without thinking.From this it ends up in sewer drains and goes to the ocean.From there it could make The Great Pacific Garbage Patch even bigger than it is. A way we can fix this is to make trash cans more conveniently placed throughout neighborhoods. We could place a strainer on the sewage drains so only rain water can get through then someone can pick up the trash collected every week
One problem in my community is that people litter in the Marshyhope River. When I fish some times I'll fish out paper bags. My Dad says that this is a real issue.

Trash is everywhere!On the street,in the water,everywhere,it's disgusting. All this pollution is unacceptable. Everyone cares about the Earth,we depend on each other to keep it clean. Everyone should recycle so the ocean will be more clean(and other places)and less gross.
The people in my community care about the trash that lays on the ground.The trash gets washed away and pollutes the environment .I asked one of my neighbors and he said that we could add barriers to stop the trash from flowing into the ocean.We could also add a dump so people have somewhere close to throw away there trash.

One environmental issue is plastic,
plastic is often washed into the ocean where birds often mistake it for food. When birds feed plastic to their young the young will get poisoned and will often die.

The Cheaskapeak Bay is the issues beacuse pollutions,nutrients.The field run off goes into the Bay.A solution could be that farmers can use less ferilizer with the crops because the extra ferilizer can run off in the Bay and it can hurt the population of the animals in the Bay.

The #1 problem in my community is pollution because I see it everywhere. It was in the pond behind our school that we visited on thursday and it was on the ground on the path we walked on. I have to admit that trash is in almost every environment and community in the world.

One of the issues in my community are that many people are burning things that they are not suppose to and it is letting harmful things into the air and when it goes up it must come down.So when it does we breath it and animals breath it and it is not good for our bodies.Also farmers are planting so many plants and when it dosent rain all those plants are going to waiste.Then that is just money that we could be using for something else.Many people are littering instead of recycling and it is hurting the enviroment.We can fix is by starting recycling clubs or putting garbage cans and recycling bins all around so that people can just put it in there.

This could be easily fixed by people keeping the trash in their cars instead of throwing it out the window, or the town could place dumpsters on the end of the street, but only as a second choice. Dumpsters aren't very attractive.Also, people driving could slow down a bit. They go way too fast.
My mom thinks that it is an issue in our community is the population of cats. There are multiple families of wild cats in my neighborhood. The cats don't have owners and haven't been "fixed" and so it's unlikely anyone will take them.

The problem in my community is that the people that live around me don't keep the environment clean. I always have to pick up trash that is thrown on the road or the trash that is thrown in my yard. So, I think that I should get together with some of my neighbors and tell them that we need to start keeping our trash out of yards and to stop throwing it in the road,so we can have a clean and healthy environment.

A couple of issues in my community is there are narrow streets line poles in the middle of the roads almost not many friendly nieghboors and you never no who is going to pull over because the narrow roads
To fix some of these problems you can get underground line poles (they have done this once on our road) and the right away does not have topull over

One issue i have in my community is these men that are always on the corner of our street doing stuff so we cant go out side because of them.
We waste a lot of water in my community. We brush our teeth and leave the water on. A solution is to turn the water off and when your mother calls you to do something.
