Magnetic Fields

We have learned about some of the different ways that electricity is produced; nuclear, fossil fuels, wind, hydroelectric and solar. Most of these ways would not be possible without an understanding of the relationship between electricity and magnetism.

Go to the following active art site to learn more about magnetic fields. Don't forget to complete the quiz.

When you are done with the Active Art site, get two bar magnets from Mr. Honer and complete the same investigation with the real thing.

When you are done, return to this blog and post a response (as a group) to the following question:

Why do you think an understanding of magnetic fields might be important to creating electricity?

The magnets create a discharge which makes a magnetic field, and sends a shock threw the wires.

the magnets make magnetic fields and the wire is attached to the magnets and the magnetic fields are drawn into the wire creating electricity.

Magnet Fields are important for the stuff we use they create electricity. The energy between two magnets can power up things that we need. Such as computers, heat, lights, and any other things controlled by electricity.

the magnets create energy witch enough of it creates electricity, and without the energy there would be no electricity.

When wires go around a magnetic field very fast they generate electricity .

You can use magnets to power electricity because when the two unlike poles come together they attract and when that happens electricity and when two like poles come together they don't attract they repel and don't create electricity.

We think magnetic fields might be important because when you put north and south poles together they attract to each other but when you put north to north or south to south poles together they expand. So when you put north and south poles together you create electricity.

the magnets make a discharge, makes a magnetic field, then makes a shock go through the wires.

he magnetic sends electric bults threw wires

The magnets creates a discharge, then there is a magnetic field that is created and is followed by a shock that is sent through the wires to the item that needs energy.

It is important to understand magnetic fields because they generate electricity by wheels turning connected to wires that travel to the light bulb using energy created by the magnets.

A understanding of magnetic fields might be important to creating electricity because it can attract electricity.

eletricty between the magnetic feilds of the magnets make eletricty so they will stick together.

Group6P4 said...

It sends shock threw the wires but to make the magnetic field the magnets have to create a discharge...

Magnetic fields generate the electricity. The magnets attract making electricity. When it repels it comes apart and the magnets do not generate.

N vs. S= attract
N vs. N= Repel
S vs. S= Repel
S vs. N= attract

The magnets send a electricity threw the wires which makes a magnetic field so magnets can discharge

period4 group3 said...

when you have a correct magnetic field the wires hooked up to the magnets will cause an electrical current between the two creating electricity in the magnetic field.

Period7group3 said...

The magnets create a field that can repel and attract. So,when they attract they can create electricity (if you have a wire hooked up to the magnets).

pd 7 group6 said...

Magnetic Fields are important when creating electricity because you don't want a discharge when your creating electricity.

period7 group 4 said...

magnetic fields might be important to creating electricity because the people need to know that the north and the south attracts and the north and north or south and south repels so if they do the north and south they will be able to create electricity.

p7 group1 said...

It might make electricty by rubing it together and it won't last long

pd7 group5 said...

One day your electricity could go out and you would need to know the magnetic field to make the electricy to come back on.

magnetic fields cause two magnets of the opposite poles to attract creating a eletro-magnetic feild.

period 8 Group5 said...

You need to know about magnetic fields because when they attract they will probably make stronger energy then when they don't attract.

group6 period8 said...

The magnets are important because they make electricity which we use every day.

We think that the flow of the magnetic field is similar to the flow of electric current.

the direction of the current of the magentic feild when are the same

group4period8 said...

yes because when you put s and s together a energy put them together but if you put n and s seprate them. so that mean magnets do have energy.

Period8 group3 said...

The magnetic field conduct electrical energy when pulled away from wire and sends energy

I think a magnetic feild will be important to creating eletricty because when the wire is wraped around the nail which the wire is conneted to the battery causing the engery from the battery to go through the wire and causing it to pick up paperclips,so that is how this is creating eletricty.

I'm the sort of guy who passions to taste unused things. Presently I'm building my own photovoltaic panels. I am managing it all by myself without the help of my staff. I am using the internet as the only way to acheive that. I ran across a truly brilliant site which explains how to create pv panels and so on. The web site explains all the steps required to solar panel construction.

I'm not sure about how accurate the information given there iz. If some experts over here who had xp with these things can have a see and give your feedback in the thread it will be great and I'd extremely appreciate it, cause I extremely take an interest in solar panel construction.

Thanks for reading this. U guys are the best.
