What is an issue that people in your community care about? What is a possible solution to the problem? Post your answer this week!

I think that our communities biggest issue is not paying enough money to our primary product producers(a.k.a farmers). For example, when you buy a box of cereal for 4 dollars you are giving most of that money to the company or brand and advertisers. Less than a dollar of that money goes to our farmers which are the ones that grow the wheat to make the cereal.
i think that our community's issue is that too many peaple are looseing there jobs and in a resalt of that peaple are looseing there homes and no one should be without a home. espesialyfamilys
The air pollution in Preston. The air pollution can be reduced if the people that live in Preston walk to stores close to them.If your getting gas you can drive your car there, but if you aren't you are polluting the air.
I THINK LITTIRING IS A BIG ISSUE IN MY COMMUNITY BECAUSE WHEN YOU WALK 5FEET DOWN THE STREET YOU SEE CANDY WRAPPERS AND RESTAURANT BAGS AND CUPS BUT HOPEFULLY PEOPLE WILL STOP LITTERING AND WE WILL HAVE A NICE,CLEAN COMMUNITY TO LIVE IN
Polution and littering.polution because trucks put smoke in the air and littering because mostly everyone in Federalsburg litter's. people really need to start caring more about our enviroment.
The people's salary.(a.k.a) money people get from you job.And when bad the salary is low then some people don't get payed enofe money so it's really hard to get food to fed your famliy's because of the food being to high. also the gas price is too high.
My mom thinks littering is a bit of a problem on our street. Especially beer cans and other things too. There is a person that goes around my area and throws empty beer cans on the ground. I think that a police man/women should try to catch him. I could go and clean up his mess and the other things that have been littered, but the person would probably just litter it again.
The biggest environmental issue is that the bay is so polluted that it is contaminating the seafood we eat. The contaminated water gets into the food and when people eat the food they are spreading diseases and people are starting to die because of it.
I think our biggest issue is people being laid off.My neighbor was laid off last yaer for no reason.Doing this makes people not have money to pay bills and makes them loose thier homes.
I think our communities biggest issue is people loosing their jobs.When they loose their job they cant't pay their bills then they loose their house and even if they have one a car.Another issue is people littering,when i lives in Hurlock all i ever saw in the ditch was beer cans ciggaret boxes.
Some issues in our community are polution and people littering. Most the time I walk outside, there is garbage in our ditch. If the town of Preston would put a trash can on the side walk every few hundred feet, peo could throw away their trash in those. It would also give sombody a job which is also a problem. If Preston put trash cans on the sidewalks, not only will the comunity will be cleaner, more people could have jobs if they emptied the trash cans every day.
I think that a community issues in my town is that the pollution and littering.In my ditch when I cut grass there is always trash.A way to solve that problem is to have people from the state come and pick up trash everyday.

I think my communities biggest issue is littering. The reason why I think that is because yesterday I went over my cousins house which is right down the street and his neighbors were talking about how much trash is everywhere. I think there needs to be more trashcans everywhere.

A community issue is too many cars driving down my road to make the air worse from the car's exhaust. A way to fix this problem could be to make the cars slow down or to make another road so not too many cars come down one road at a time.
i think people burning rubber and plastic is bad because it creates lots of smoke and can burn down tree........at my house the neighbors caught a tree on fire before and they create so much smoke i can't see out the window
A community issue would be when people throw there trash away and they don't put all the trash in the trash can ,people just throws it on the ground.Another problem is that people kill to many oysters and whith out oysters are bay will stay dirty.

The issue in my community is speeding. When cars and trucks speed this causes there to be a lot of exhaust smoke which is not good for the environment. When cars and trucks speed they sometimes hit animals that are in the road because they can't slow down in time. One of the ways to help stop the speeding in my community would be to have to a police officer in the community more than once a day to make sure cars and trucks aren't speeding.
I think an issue in our community is cars puffs of smoke. Every morning I get stuck behind a car that has just pulled out of the driveway and the puffs of smoke are really bad. My parents don't use there car as much as we they use to do.
me and my family think that cutting down trees is a environmental problem in our community. There is this big woods next to our house and farther down the road there's this really big gap in the woods its a complete mess.

I think the biggest problem in our community is the gas prices because last year gas prices were $1.65. And now they are like $2.65 that is a dollar difference and it went up because of the Economy.

my community (its really a rural farmer type place) is overpopulated with alot of ferel cats. With 71 one traps set out they caught 31 cats its a problem and the cats need homes and food

This could spell, disaster for this habitat and all the living organisms that live inside it. These animals are dying and that decreases food supply[fish,shrimp,crab] for us. I talked to my mommom and she said that sh thinks that the biggest problem in our communities is the ammount of carbon dioxside that people are using is a very big problem because there is so much going into the air from factories, cars and more there is so much that not only the animals die from it but some people can to.Like the babies they cant take all the gases.She said that every town and city has this problem and there is a soulution but dont care because they want to go to the malls and all i mean who dosent want to but we can wait or even walk to one near by i know that my grandmother was serious when she told me this because she just had leg surgery and she is stll worried about the enviorment beccause she has hope and we all should!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think our communities biggest issue is that on the road we live on people drive way too fast. There is a big narrow turn and people spin out of control and cause wrecks.
The farming.We have alot of farmers where we live...All the fertilizer runs into are river.And they cant stop using fertilizer because,the crops wont grow...And we wont have any vegetables or fruits!:(
My parents think that pollution in the marina is the worst community issue. When people "dump" their trash in the marina parks, it could hurt wildlife if they come in contact with the trash and the result hurts them. I think that we should set up trash cans that have a lid (so wildlife can't get get in!) and have roads that people can't drive on and you have to walk or ride a bike etc.

Our water in my community has too much sulfur in it and all the sulfur in the water makes it not have a good smell it kinda smells like a rotten egg.To help that problem we could get a water tower so we could have better smelling water.
i think that people are speeding by too fast! they are going down my street like 60 maybe even up to 75 mph. it is a town street with lots of houses and kids and dogs and cats. and very fast and they are going to hit somebody like a kid or an animal and it would really help if they put some cops on our street and if they caught even one of them they probly would not do it anymore.
I think my communities biggest issue is people polluting the air. A couple of people in my street burn their trash and one time somebody burned down their neighbors lawn. To stop this I think, they should get a trashcan and take their trash to the dump.
I think the biggest issue in our community is smoking and littering because smoking can cause health problems and it can cause lung cancer and people around you can get sick by second hand of smoke that mean they are breathing the smoke and they get sick. I think the biggest problem in our community is the amount of pollution in Maryland.I live near the marshy hope creek and let me tell you its so dirty you can't even see 2 ft into the water.Last time I went fishing I found a dead fish and didn't catch a thing.The worst part is I've never caught a fish big enough to keep exsept for 1 fish I took home and had it for dinner thats the biggest problem in the community.

they have been cutting a lot of trees down and thats a big problem
The town needs to put down new bigger septic pipes so new companies can open up and provide new jobs therefore lowering the crime rate.
I think that littering is a big issue because when I come to school all I see on the roads are beer cans and ciggaret boxes
I think our community issue is agricutural runoff. (When pestiside,fertilizer,etc runs off into the bay and causes pollution.)I think we should use more eviromentally friendly products
Our water in my community has too much sulfur in it and all the sulfur in the water makes it not have a good smell it kinda smells like a rotten egg.To help that problem we could get a water tower so we could have better smelling water.

i think that people are speeding by too fast! they are going down my street like 60 maybe even up to 75 mph. it is a town street with lots of houses and kids and dogs and cats. and very fast and they are going to hit somebody like a kid or an animal and it would really help if they put some cops on our street and if they caught even one of them they probly would not do it anymore.
my family and i think that the biggest issue in our community is kids on the streets doing drugs. and there are gang groups doing drugs
I think my communities biggest issue is people polluting the air. A couple of people in my street burn their trash and one time somebody burned down their neighbors lawn. To stop this I think, they should get a trashcan and take their trash to the dump.
In my back yard I keep finding cat poop. Also I keep finding beer cans. Last I keep finding trash on the side walk\ porch.

I think the biggest issue in our community is smoking and littering because smoking can cause health problems and it can cause lung cancer and people around you can get sick by second hand of smoke that mean they are breathing the smoke and they get sick. Littering is A second issue in our community because people can get sick from all those germs coming from the your trash...........

The biggest issue in my environment is pollution because people are polluting the bay.That is killing the fish.Also the cemicals from farmers crops is going into the bay and that is bad.
I think the biggest problem in our community is the amount of pollution in Maryland.I live near the marshy hope creek and let me tell you its so dirty you can't even see 2 ft into the water.Last time I went fishing I found a dead fish and didn't catch a thing.The worst part is I've never caught a fish big enough to keep exsept for 1 fish I took home and had it for dinner thats the biggest problem in the community.

I think that our communities biggest issue is that everybody liters a lot. If people liter they will have to pay a fine and then they will loose money and they will loose their house and their job.

I think our biggest issue with the community is that there is not a lot of jobs to choose from and a lot of people are losing their homes because of it and lots of people are losing there jobs because in some factory are not getting orders in to make.
I think the biggest thing is gas and oil all the gas and oil goes up in the air and get in the air and hard to breath because all the gas and oil makes it hard to breath with people at have asthma and it can kill all the people with asthma.
I think our biggest community issue is that we don't have allot of trees left because people are cutting most of them down,so that they can build more and more houses.But we also need houses,but i think that the animals that live in trees need a home too,so thats what i think our biggest community issue is.
When i talked to my mom about this she said that the biggest issue in the community she said that either pollution or people getting fired and so the people have no money to get food. For example so many people drive cars and don't through away there trash so that is bad for the earth witch the water and the air will go bad if people don't stop or put an end to this the earth will be a bad place to live for animals and people.!!!!

the biggest problem s people cutting down trees for other stuff like homes when we need trees more to get oxygen all that houses give is shelter.....yes houses are nice but trees help us live
My community issue is littering beacause i see people throw trash on the grond and dont even care.I also see people walk and look at the trash and dont pick it up.
